Disposable Pen Covers
Materials:
Small amount worsted weight yarn for each cover
Crochet hook size G
Yarn needle
Size: Fits most disposable pens, such as bic, papermate...without cap.
Notes: Do not join rounds unless indicated.
Pen covers can be made longer or shorter id desired simply by adding or subtracting the sc rnds (rnds 2 - 17)
Flower Pen Cover
Rnd 1: Starting at base of pen cover, ch 5, join in first ch to make a ring. Ch 1, sc in same ch as joining, sc in next 4 ch, join with a sl st in first sc. (5 sc)
Rnds 2 - 17: ch 1, sc in same sc as ch 1, sc in each rem sc around, join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 18: Ch 1, sc in same sc as ch 1, ch 1, work (sc in next sc, ch 1) 4 times, join with a sl st in first sc. (5 - ch 1 sps)
Rnd 19: *Sl st into next ch 1 sp, ch 1, 3 hdc, ch 1 and sl st all in same sp, repeat from * around. Join with a sl st in first ch 1, fasten off.
Weave in all loose ends.
Butterfly Pen Cover
Rnds 1 - 17: Repeat rnds 1 - 17 of Flower Pen Cover. (5 sc)
Rnd 18: Ch 1, work a sc shell in same sc as joining and in each next 3 sc, sl st in next sc.
(antennae)*ch 6, sl st in 4th ch from hook, sl st in next 2 chs, sl st into same sc of rnd 17 as beginning sl st of antennae, repeat from * once more, join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 19: Sl st into next ch-2 sp, work, ch 1, 2hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc and sl st all in same ch-2 sp, sk next sc, sc in next sc, work 3 dc, ch 3, sl st in top of last dc made, 2 dc, ch 1 and sl st all in next ch-2 sp, sk next 2 sc, sl st into next ch-2 sp, work ch 1, 3 dc, ch 3, sl st in top of last dc made, 3 dc all in same ch- 2 sp, sc in next sc, sk next sc, 2 hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc in next ch-2 sp, join in first sl st of rnd 19. Fasten off.
Weave in all loose ends.
